1 Chet 555 (14th March 2023) marks the Sikh New Year which means the Khalis Lekhak
writing contest is back for its second year. This is a writing contest to encourage and promote reading and writing within the Sikh Panth and there are three age categories to ensure everyone has a chance to share their creative writing.
This year we are looking for original short stories that revolve around the theme of 'Panjab - land of the 10 Guru Sahiban'.
This could be an Action Adventure, Dystopian Thriller, or Science Fiction novel, with characters and story lines from any century, with the main plot based on the following lines by Professor Puran Singh (1881-1931) from his poem jvwn pMjwb dy

Panjab; neither Hindu nor Muslim. All of Panjab exists upon the names of the Guru Sahiban.
At Khalis House we believe it is important to encourage both reading and writing within the Sikh Panth, so that we can preserve our narrative and reconceptualise moments of greatness from the Sikh tradition.
